On International Women’s day we interviewed four of our Female Experts from St Trinity to weigh in on their experiences in the property market and working in the Property Industry and insights on how to get into the property market.
“Start as soon as you can, open a separate bank account and contribute as much or as little as you can towards a deposit” – Lara Osborn
“ DO IT ! – there is nothing more empowering for a young woman in this day and age than being independent and purchasing her first property” – Reneh Hanna
“Don’t think about it too much! Make sure you are going to be okay financially and if you are, just go for it ! Don’t try and find the property that ticks every single box/has everything you want, because most of the time it will be impossible to find. Go for something that ticks most boxes, not necessarily all of them” – Sophie Pellegrino
“Don’t do it alone – find someone who has done it before – ask a million questions and trust people who have gone through what you’re going through before purchasing, Knowledge is everything ” – Bianca Anton

Lara Osborn’s Property Journey
St Trinity’s very own Marketing Executive, Lara Osborn, is one of the many women who work alongside the team and bought her first property at the age of 26.
She has worked in the property industry for the last 5 years, taking the journey as a purchaser with the guidance of skills she has learnt in the industry.
Lara’s advice to all women wanting to get into the property market is,
“Start as soon as you can, open a separate bank account and contribute as much or as little as you can towards a deposit”.
Lara continued on the importance of commencing your savings as soon as you can and making the most out of the FHB grants when purchasing your first property.
“We (My husband & I) were lucky enough to be living with my in-laws in order to assist in saving a bigger deposit. So if you too are lucky enough to have this luxury, don’t take it for granted – use it to your advantage! Save as if you are already paying a mortgage & utilities.”
Reneh Hanna’s Property Journey
Reneh Hanna, Senior Property Consultant at St Trinity Property Group, has worked in the property industry for 5 years, purchasing her first property at 25 years old. She has such a passion for the industry and off-the-plan apartments, that she has purchased multiple apartments for each of her children, owning 7 properties in total.
For Reneh, “Purchasing a property was very overwhelming and exciting”, but she found comfort in building a relationship with the developer through working with them, which allowed her to gain a thorough understanding of the product on offer.
“ The First Home Buyers grants have made it possible to get all of my children their first properties, Times have changed since I purchased my first home at the age of 25”
Reneh enjoys working in the property industry as it benefits her from an investor perspective, allowing her to be continuously updated on the changes that are happening in the property market.
Sophie Pellegrino’s Property Journey
St Trinity Property Consultant Sophie Pellegrino, has been in the property industry for 3 years. Working hard & conducting research working in the industry, she managed to purchase her first home at the age of just 23.
Sophie’s journey demonstrates that purchasing your first home as a young adult is more than possible.
“My Experience was good, it was quite a simple process for me, I looked at approximately 3 different properties and decided within one week of looking.”
Sophie advised she was quite lucky and did not come across any real challenges throughout purchasing her first property.
“I think the most challenging part for me was the 2 year wait for the property to be built as I made the bold move and purchased off the plan. It was quite a smooth process for me otherwise.”
Sophie is a clear example of a young female who works within the industry, who loves to meet new people that are at a similar point in their first home buyer journey and changing their lives by finding them a home, or potential future investment property.
Bianca Anton’s Property Journey
Bianca Anton, Head of Sales at St Trinity Property Group, has worked in different roles in the Property Industry for the last 10 years. Over this time she has gained experience & knowledge across a variety of departments and teams within the industry including Sales, Marketing, Growth & Operations.
After having a bad experience buying a property at 18 years old with no guidance or knowledge, Bianca was determined to set up a life for herself.
“People are trying to live a life they can’t afford – I was very conservative with my way of spending and was strict with my lifestyle so I can be comfortable later on. It Became about making sure I can retire comfortably.”
Through her industry experience, Bianca has seen the good and the bad in challenges that can arise. One major thing she has noticed is how misleading Social Media can be for guiding young people on the property journey.
Bianca’s Advice is:
“Don’t do it alone – find someone who has done it before – ask a million questions and trust people who have gone through what you’re going through before purchasing, Knowledge is everything ”
